We believe every ingredient counts!
There are no shortcuts in our syrup making process. Each individual batch is handcrafted by us from berry to bottle. Our syrup is brought to a slow simmer and cooked thoroughly & properly in a sterilized environment at a DHEC approved commercial kitchen. We combine organic ginger, clove, & Ceylon cinnamon with the addition of organic lemon juice & local raw wildflower honey from Bee Well, a USDA certified & accredited honey producer in the Sate of SC. You can learn more about our honey source at www.beewellhoneyfarm.com.
We also support local growers, farmers & small business for our products. Our natural spring water comes straight from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Ashville, NC. Spring water is often considered "live water", due to the naturally occurring mineral content. Our water source is accredited through the North Carolina Spring Water Association. You can learn more about their company by visiting their website, www.bluemoonwater.com. This 2020 season, we have also been fortunate enough to work with local farmers to produce elderberries & fresh ginger for our syrup when available. Our labels are printed locally & even our bottles come from a local agency. Sourcing so much locally reduces the overall carbon footprint.
Mama K's is also a proud member of the Elderberry Trade Association. The specific mission of this association came into fruition by like minded commercial elderberry syrup producers across the United States with the overall goal to promote, protect, and enhance the overall well being of the elderberry industry by creating relationships between producers and regulators while striving to advance the elderberry industry through research, advocacy, education & legislation. As of January 2021, the ETA is comprised of 68 producers, domestically, with Krystal being one of them. You will always see us proudly display the ETA logo on our products!
